The Uno Turbo

The first batch (May 1990 - Feb 1992) are the only ones which are exactly like the overseas (esp UK & Italian) ones, with the leather & velvet cloth.

The second batch (March 1992 - Feb 1996) are very similar to the first, except that the seats are the same as in the Nissan Sentra's of that time, a bland black & grey chequered design, with the black leather.

The 3rd batch, (March 1996 - July 1998) are the last ones made in the world. They differ quite a bit on the exterior from other Uno Turbo's found around the world, this is really a South African model only. In all of these, the firewall is mostly the same as other Uno Turbo's, the seats are colourful "cellphones & music notes" design, it comes standard with a boot spoiler, the bumpers are no longer using the red stripe, but rather the semi-colorcoded design as used before in the Pacer SX. If your Uno Turbo from this era is still 100% stock standard and you still have the original exhaust, you will notice that it also had a chrome tailpiece, whereas none of the earlier models (Pre-1996) were equipped with one. Then, engine-wise, you will see that the intake manifold top part where the butterfly valve is located is smalller on the outside. Appearance wise, the side decals also changed to the newer writing, in line with the other Uno models.

All Uno Turbo models however, came out with Pirelli P4000 175/60 R13 tyres, right from day 1 to the very last one made.

That is as far as the South African models are concerned. The only more advanced Uno Turbo ever made, is the Uno Turbo i.e. Mk2 Racing Edition, which included ABS braking, driver side air bag, small little sprayers for the headlights, and that's about all we know at the moment.
